Ignite Imaginations
Build Literacy Skills
Strengthen Communities
Broomfield Spellbinders is a program of the Broomfield Council on the Arts & Humanities (BCAH: www.artsinbroomfield.org) and meets monthly in the historic Brunner Farm House. For more than 10 years, our Spellbinders® Storytelling Volunteers have shared stories with school children and seniors in adult care facilities. While Broomfield itself does not have a local school system, we share stories in schools and other venues in the City of Broomfield and many neighboring communities-Erie, Lafayette, Northglenn, Thornton, and Westminster. Our library in the Brunner House contains a wealth of storytelling materials.
To meet some of our storytellers and to hear a sampling of our stories, please visit these YouTube channels: “Spellbinders-Broomfield” and “Wynn Montgomery” (Pop Tales).
Upcoming Trainings
When: Check back for our next training schedule
Where: Brunner Farmhouse, 640 Main St., Broomfield, CO 80020
This training session is described in this flyer.
While all four sessions are required to complete the course, we are usually able to make alternate arrangements if you must miss a single class. If you would like more information or want to sign up for the training, please contact Wynn Montgomery by sending an email to wynnmill@comcast.net. A brief interview and a background check are pre-requisites for the training.
Training content is standardized; however, other training requirements may differ among local areas. Any volunteer wishing to join Broomfield Spellbinders must contact our Trainer for an initial interview. If any or all Broomfield training dates are inconvenient for the volunteer, our Trainer will coordinate with other local organizations to develop a workable training schedule and will arrange for post-training classroom “shadowing” with a Broomfield Spellbinders volunteer storyteller.
Broomfield Spellbinders® meets monthly throughout the school year, August through May. No meetings in June, July, or December.
When: 3rd Friday of the month
Time: 12:45 pm to 3:00 pm
Where: Brunner Farmhouse 640 Main St Broomfield, CO 80020
We would love to have you join us for our monthly meeting and meet our Spellbinders® community! If this is your first visit, please email Tiffany Painter at trpainter8@gmail.com to let us know that you are coming.
Newsletters for the two current service years are posted here. For access to earlier newsletters, please contact the Web Content Manager.

Meet Our Steering Committee
The Steering Committee shares a love of storytelling and an interest in promoting the tradition of oral storytelling with the members of the Broomfield Spellbinders® Licensed Local Storytelling Group. Interacting with students and community members as we tell our stories, we find satisfaction and enjoyment bringing fun to our audiences and igniting imaginations.
The Broomfield Spellbinders® helps support and encourage our members in the art of storytelling, by planning fun monthly meetings with time for fellowship, shared stories, and ideas as well as help in becoming better storytellers.
